🏵️🏵️🏵️ Thank you, Brianna, for your insightful piece.

In Islam, we are taught that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself exhibited moments of vulnerability, shedding tears in times of loss, grief, and even joy. This shows us that crying is a natural response to our experiences and that it is a reflection of our humanity, not a weakness.

Moreover, the Quran emphasizes the importance of seeking solace and mercy through prayer and remembrance. In Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286), it is stated that "Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear." This verse serves as a reminder that our feelings, including sorrow and despair, are acknowledged by Allah, and there is wisdom in our ability to express these emotions.

I encourage you Brianna, to continue sharing your thoughts on mental health, especially from an Islamic perspective, as it is vital for our community. Let us foster a dialogue that normalizes vulnerability and emotional expression.

Your influence can inspire many to recognize that crying can indeed be a form of strength. Together, let’s dismantle the stigmas around expressing our feelings. How can we further promote this message within our communities?

🏵️🏵️🏵️

Best regards,

Mohamed, Ph.D.
