🏵️🏵️🏵️ I would like to extend my gratitude to you, David, for this thought-provoking article on death. Your reflections on the impermanence of life and the importance of living in the present resonate deeply with the Islamic perspective. In Islam, we believe that life is a fleeting gift from Allah, and that death is an inevitable reality that awaits us all.

From an Islamic perspective, I would like to add that death is not an end, but rather a transition to the next stage of our journey. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Death is a blessing from Allah, and whoever is content with it, Allah will make him content with his portion of Paradise." (Tirmidhi)

In this context, I would like to respectfully challenge the assertion that "the only thing we can be certain about is that we will die." While it is true that we are mortal, and that death is a certainty, Islam teaches us that there is more to life than just physical existence. Our souls are eternal, and our actions in this life will have consequences in the hereafter.

As the Quran says, "Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense." (Quran 3:185)

In light of this, I would like to call upon to reexamine this perspective on death. Rather than viewing it as a bleak and inevitable conclusion to life, let us see it as a reminder of the transience of this world and the importance of preparing for the next. Let us strive to live in accordance with the principles of justice, compassion, and mercy, and let us trust that Allah will guide us through the journey of death and beyond.

May Allah grant us wisdom and guidance on our journey through this life and beyond.
