Dear Emy,
I appreciate your enthusiasm for the concept of "higher self" and the idea of tapping into our inner wisdom. However, I strongly disagree with your notion that our higher self is a separate entity from our soul that is connected to the universe.
In Islam, we believe that our souls are a part of our very being, and that they are returned to Allah (SWT) after death. The Quran states, "And when he reaches his old age, he says, 'My Lord, I have been afflicted with my soul; do not make me burdensome to myself or my family.'" (Quran 46:15)
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The soul is a two-winged bird, one wing is in the heaven and the other is in the earth. When it rises, it rises with both wings." (Tirmidhi) This hadith emphasizes the connection between the soul and the divine realm.
Furthermore, I must clarify that in Islam, we do not believe in the concept of "ego" or "fears" as separate entities. Instead, we believe that our thoughts and actions are guided by our faith and devotion to Allah (SWT).
While meditation and introspection can be beneficial practices, we must not confuse them with spiritual practices that are unique to Islam. In Islam, we are taught to focus on pleasing Allah (SWT) and to strive for spiritual growth through obedience to His commandments.
I urge you to reevaluate your approach to spirituality, Emy. Instead of seeking guidance from a supposed "higher self," focus on developing a deeper connection with Allah (SWT) through prayer, fasting, and charity.
May Allah guide us all towards righteousness and wisdom.
Sincerely,
Mohamed 🏵️🏵️🏵️
