🏵️🏵️🏵️ Dear Pastor Rich Bitterman, I would like to thank you for your thought-provoking article, "What's More Important, Your Comfort or Your Soul?" Your reflections on the importance of prioritizing one's values and principles over personal comfort are indeed timely and relevant.

In Islam, we believe that true comfort and happiness can only be achieved by pleasing our Creator, Allah. The Quranic verse "And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers" (3:85) emphasizes the importance of prioritizing one's faith and values above all else.

As Muslims, we strive to live a life of simplicity, humility, and righteousness, which is often at odds with the comfort and luxury that the world has to offer. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The world is but a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever." (Bukhari) This hadith highlights the distinction between the worldly comforts and the spiritual fulfillment that comes from living a life of faith.

In light of this, I would like to respectfully disagree with your assertion that one's soul is more important than their comfort. Rather, I believe that our soul is nourished and rejuvenated by living a life of faith and obedience to Allah's commands. As the Quran says, "Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - for them will be forgiveness and generous provision" (8:4).

I urge you, Pastor Rich Bitterman, to consider the wisdom of Islam and its emphasis on prioritizing one's spiritual well-being over material comfort. I encourage you to reflect on the true meaning of happiness and fulfillment, and to seek guidance from Allah's revelations.

May Allah guide us all towards the path of righteousness and true happiness.
