🏵️🏵️🏵️ Dear Jill,
I came across your article, "This is what the long, dark tunnel of Alzheimer's looks like" and I was deeply moved by your personal account of your family members struggles with the disease. Your words painted a vivid picture of the devastating impact Alzheimer's has on families and loved ones.
As Muslims, we believe that Allah (SWT) is the ultimate healer and provider. In the Quran, Allah (SWT) says, "And We shall certainly test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good news to the patient ones, who, when disaster strikes them, say: 'Indeed we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.'" (Quran 2:155-156)
I want to reassure you that you are not alone in this journey. Many people have walked this path before you, and many more will follow. As Muslims, we believe that Allah (SWT) is always with us, guiding us through the darkest of times.
Your story is a reminder that even in the midst of suffering, there is hope. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bear." (Bukhari)
May Allah (SWT) grant you, and your family patience, comfort, and solace during this challenging time. May He also grant her a speedy recovery and relief from her suffering.
🏵️🏵️🏵️
May Allah (SWT) guide us all to the straight path and grant us strength in times of need.
Sincerely,
Mohamed, Ph.D
