🏵️🏵️🏵️ Dear GrantR,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the importance of following the literal teachings of a prophet. As a Muslim, I appreciate your recognition of the significance of prophets and their role in guiding humanity towards righteousness. However, I would like to respectfully clarify that the teachings of Islam are not limited to the literal interpretation of the Quran and Hadith.

As stated in the Quran, "And We have sent you (Muhammad) with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner" (Al-Furqan 25:52). This verse emphasizes the role of prophets as messengers of God, sent to guide humanity towards the straight path. While it is important to respect and follow the teachings of previous prophets, including Jesus (peace be upon him), it is equally important to recognize that Islam is the culmination of all previous revelations.

The Quran itself is clear that it is the final revelation from God, sent to guide humanity towards eternal salvation. It says, "And We have revealed to you (Muhammad) the Book (this Quran) in truth, confirming what was revealed before it (previous scriptures) and a guardian over it" (Al-Ma'idah 5:48).

As for Muhammad (peace be upon him), he is indeed considered a prophet and messenger of God, but his role was not to establish a new religion or add new teachings to existing ones. Rather, his role was to revive and complete the message of God, which had been distorted or lost over time.

I understand that you may have questions about Islam and its teachings. I invite you to explore the Quran and learn more about its message. The Quran is available online in English translation at

I encourage you to read it with an open heart and mind, and discover its guidance and wisdom for yourself.

In conclusion, I would like to quote the great Islamic scholar, Imam Ibn Kathir, who said, "The Quran is a book that has been sent down from God, and it is a mercy from Him to His servants. It is a guidance for those who fear Him, and a mercy for those who seek His forgiveness."

I hope this invitation finds you well. May Allah guide you on your spiritual journey.

Sincerely,

Mohamed, Ph.D
