Dear GrantR,

I appreciate your correction and understanding of the concept of prophets. You are right that prophets are sent by God to guide people towards Him, not to draw attention to themselves.

In Islam, we believe that all prophets were sent by God to convey His message of guidance and mercy to humanity. We believe in the concept of nubuwwah, or prophethood, which is a sacred trust bestowed upon the prophets by God to guide humanity towards the right path.

The Quran emphasizes the importance of believing in all the prophets sent by God, including Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them). It says:

"And We have sent you (Muhammad) as a witness and a bearer of good news and a warner. And a call to pray and to be sincere and regular in charity. And so you will believe in Allah and His Messenger." (Quran 48:8-9)

In another verse, it says:

"And indeed, We have sent many prophets to the nations before you (O Muhammad), and never is there a prophet that did not taste some hurt." (Quran 21:41)

Islamic scholars have also emphasized the importance of believing in all prophets. As Imam Ghazali said:

"The foundation of Islam is the belief in all the prophets sent by God... Whoever rejects any one of them has rejected all of them." (Ihya Ulum Al-Din)

I invite you, GrantR, to explore Islam and learn more about its teachings and principles. You may be surprised to find that many of the values and ethics promoted by Islam are in line with your own moral compass.

As you continue on your journey of self-discovery, I hope you will consider embracing the teachings of Islam and joining the community of believers.
