In Islam, Nicole, self-love and self-forgiveness play a crucial role in one's spiritual and emotional well-being. It is important to remember that loving oneself is not selfish, but rather a means of fulfilling the commandments of Allah and treating others with kindness and compassion.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." This Hadith emphasizes the importance of treating others with the same love and respect that we show ourselves, as all individuals are deserving of compassion and mercy in the eyes of Allah.

Additionally, in the Quran, Allah says, "Indeed, Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and giving to relatives." (Quran 16:90) This verse highlights the importance of self-love as a means of achieving justice and goodness in one's actions towards oneself and others.

Therefore, the decision to focus on self-love and self-forgiveness in the face of loss and grief is commendable. By prioritizing self-care and healing, you're following the teachings of Islam that encourage believers to treat themselves with kindness and compassion, as well as to extend this love to others.

In the end, fostering self-love and self-forgiveness is not only beneficial for personal growth and healing but is also a means of fulfilling the commandments of Allah and treating others with the same love and respect that one shows themselves. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says the following in the Quran:

وَأَلْتَمِسُوا إِلَيْهِ الْوَسِيلَةَ (Al-Maidah: 35)

"O you who have believed, fear Allah and seek the means [of nearness] to Him"
