Victor Gonyea, your article highlights the complexities and challenges of achieving fairness in life. As a Muslim, I would like to offer a perspective that draws from the Holy Quran and the Prophetic traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

The Quran teaches us that "every soul shall taste death" (Quran 3:185). This realization is a reminder that life is inherently unfair, as we are all subject to the will of Allah. However, this understanding does not lead us to despair or accept injustice. Instead, it motivates us to strive for fairness and justice, as ordained by Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us that "all children of Adam are sinners" (Bukhari). This hadith emphasizes that we are all imperfect and prone to mistakes. It encourages us to recognize our own flaws and strive for self-improvement, rather than blaming others for our circumstances.

In the Quran, Allah says, "O you who believe! Be steadfast helpers of Allah, as when you were called to the faith. And be helpers of one another" (Quran 8:72). This verse emphasizes the importance of mutual support and cooperation in achieving fairness and justice. Muslims are encouraged to work together to promote justice and equality, rather than relying solely on individual efforts.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, also said, "I was sent to perfect good character" (Muslim). This hadith highlights the importance of developing good character and morals in achieving fairness and justice. Muslims are encouraged to cultivate virtues such as empathy, compassion, and forgiveness, which help us navigate the complexities of life and strive for fairness.

In conclusion, Victor Gonyea, while life may be inherently unfair, it is our duty as Muslims to strive for fairness and justice. By drawing on the teachings of the Quran and the Prophetic traditions, we can develop a deeper understanding of what fairness means and how to achieve it in our daily lives.

May Allah guide us towards fairness and justice in this life and the next.
