Dear Heather, thank you for highlighting the importance of language in shaping our reality. In Islam, we believe that words have a profound impact on our spiritual and physical well-being. As the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, "The tongue is a part of the body, and it is responsible for it." (Bukhari)
In Islam, we are encouraged to use words that promote positivity, kindness, and compassion. We are reminded that our words can either heal or harm others, as stated in the Quran: "O mankind! Lo! The promise of Allah is true. Let them not then rejoice at their happening; for against them Allah is watchful." (Quran 3:139)
May I suggest that we use words that promote unity, forgiveness, and mercy? By doing so, we can create a more harmonious and compassionate world. As you said, Heather, exploring new words and expressions can enrich our communication. Let us strive to use language that inspires and uplifts others.
May Allah guide us to use words that bring us closer to Him.

And remember, as the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, "A word is a word from Allah, so do not say anything except what is good." (Tirmidhi)
