While the growth of these services in a positive light that makes audiobooks accessible to more people and boosts revenue, their sustainability model have concerns in the long run. 🏵️🏵️

One concern is that these subscription services may hurt audiobook publishers and authors' sales revenue. As these services offer very low prices or unlimited access to a library of titles, there is a likelihood that fewer people might buy audiobooks at a full price. This could, in turn, affect the smaller or independent publishers who may struggle to compete with bigger players.

Another issue is the potential effect subscription services could have on the compensation that authors and narrators receive. With reduced revenue per audiobook, these services could lead to a decrease in their royalties, which can negatively impact the industry and limit future opportunities for creative minds.

Furthermore, audiobook subscription services' exclusive deals might limit the diversity of voices and content available to listeners. As audiobook publishers compete for exclusive deals with major services like Audible, smaller publishers and new writers may find it harder to have their voices heard.

The audiobook industry should prioritize good business practices that value diversity, fairness, competition, and ensure everyone involved in its ecosystem benefits wholly. The continued growth and prosperity of the audiobook industry depend on it.
