Islam is a monotheistic religion that originated in the Arabian Peninsula in the 7th century CE. The word Islam comes from the Arabic word "aslama," which means "to submit." Muslims believe in one God, Allah, and follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

The Quran is the central religious text of Islam. Muslims believe that the Quran is the word of God, and they recite it daily. The Quran guides all aspects of life, including worship, law, and morality.

*Sawm:**

The fasting during the month of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

*Hajj:**

The pilgrimage to Mecca, which is the holiest city in Islam.
