Violence has been present in various religions at different times in history.🏵️🏵️ Every religion has ( a peaceful and violent side ) associated with it. It cannot be generalized that one particular religion is more violent than the other.

Indeed, some religious teachings, texts, and interpretations have been used to justify violence and war, while others have been used to promote nonviolence and peace.

For example, in Christianity, the Crusaders used the Bible to justify their violent campaigns to claim the Holy Land. In Hinduism, the caste system and religious extremism have often led to violence against lower castes and minority religions. In Buddhism, some extremist groups have been associated with terrorism, particularly in Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

Similarly, in Islam, some groups have used their interpretation of the Quran to justify violent acts against civilians, such as terrorism. However, the vast majority of Muslims around the world condemn such acts, and Islam promotes peace, compassion, jihad and justice.

On side note; jihad is an Arabic word that means "struggle" or "effort" in Islam. There are two types of Jihad: the greater Jihad, which is an internal struggle against one's own negative impulses and desires, and the lesser Jihad, which is an external struggle to defend oneself against aggression or injustice. Both types of Jihad are considered essential in Islam.

The greater Jihad involves striving to become a better person and a better servant of God, by following the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and by engaging in acts of worship, such as prayer and fasting. This is based on the Hadith narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The striving of anyone who strives (in the way of Allah) is for himself, for Allah is free of all needs

It's important to note that religious violence often co-occurs with political, economic, and social factors, and is not exclusively related to religious beliefs. So it's essential to understand the underlying social, economic, and political forces behind any particular conflict.

In the end, violence has existed, and still happening in all human religious communities, but it is important not to generalize and point fingers at any particular religion and recognize that the majority of people in all religions promote peace, love, and compassion.
