The preservation of the Quran, revealed by Allah to His Prophet Muhammad over 1,400 years ago, is a fundamental tenet of Islamic faith. 🏵️🏵️🏵️

The Quran's preservation can be traced back to the time of its revelation, during which the Prophet memorized and recited its verses. Allah says in the Quran:

"Verily, We have sent down the Reminder (i.e., the Quran), and We will surely preserve it." (15:9)

As a result, many of the Prophet's companions also memorized the Quran, ensuring its transmission through oral tradition.

This tradition continued for several centuries, with scholars and religious leaders committing the text to memory and passing it down through generations. Allah says:

"And We have sent down the Book (i.e., the Quran) to you explaining clearly everything, and as a guidance, a mercy, and good news for Muslims." (16:89)

In addition to oral transmission, written copies of the Quran were also produced during the Prophet's lifetime.

These early manuscripts were carefully preserved and compared against each other to ensure their accuracy.

Over time, standardized versions of the Quran emerged, which served as a basis for future editions and translations. Allah says:

"Indeed, it is We who sent down the Dhikr (i.e., the Quran) and certainly, We will guard it (from corruption)." (15:9)

The preservation of the Quran is also attributed to God's divine intervention.

Muslims believe that God has protected the text from any errors or alterations through a process known as "tawatur," which refers to the uninterrupted transmission of knowledge from generation to generation.

This concept is based on the idea that if a group of people all independently transmit a piece of information, it is more likely to be accurate than if it is transmitted by a single individual. Allah says:

"And We have already sent Our Messengers with clear signs and sent down with them the Book in order to make it clear for the people." (16:44)

Today, the Quran is widely available in printed and digital formats, and its preservation continues to be a priority for Muslim scholars and religious leaders. The text is subjected to rigorous scholarly scrutiny and comparison against earlier editions and manuscripts to ensure its accuracy and authenticity.

As a result, Muslims have confidence in the integrity and reliability of the Quran as a sacred text that has been preserved by Allah since its revelation until today.
