The Palestinian standpoint on the situation with Israel is rooted in a long history of displacement that dates back to the late 19th century.🏵️🏵️
The partition of Palestine by the United Nations in 1947, leading to the establishment of a Jewish state and an Arab state, resulted in the displacement of over 700,000 Palestinians, who fled their homes or were forced out by Jewish militias.
This has led to what is now known as the Palestinian refugee issue, with an estimated 5.7 million registered Palestinian refugees worldwide as of 2021.

Israel's settlement building policy is a significant obstacle to peace and violates their human rights.
As of 2021, more than 650,000 Israeli settlers are living in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which has been deemed illegal under international law.
Settlement expansion has resulted in the displacement of Palestinian families from their homes and land, demolition of Palestinian homes, and the creation of isolated and fragmented Palestinian territories.
The Israeli government has allocated billions of dollars (originally the money is USA citizens taxpayers with $260 billion) towards supporting and expanding settlements, which are often built on privately owned Palestinian land, including in the city of Hebron where Israeli settlers and troops have limited Palestinian access to the holy site of the Ibrahimi mosque.

Israel's policy of closure and siege of the Gaza Strip has been a significant contributor to their ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Following the election of Hamas in 2006, Israel imposed a blockade on Gaza, which restricts the import and export of goods, people, and necessities such as fuel, electricity and medical supplies.
This blockade has intensified the levels of poverty, unemployment, and food insecurity in Gaza, with over 80% of the population dependent on humanitarian aid as of 2021.

Israel is also accused of human rights abuses, including excessive use of force and discriminatory policies.
In recent years, there have been numerous incidents of Israeli military violence and extrajudicial killings of Palestinian protesters, including during the Great March of Return in 2018.
Palestinians have also been subjected to harsh imprisonment conditions, including administrative detention and torture, with over 5,400 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails as of 2021.

Palestinians need a just and comprehensive resolution of all outstanding issues, including the establishment of a fully independent Palestinian state, is necessary for peace.
They demand that the international community recognize their right to self-determination, the right of return of Palestinian refugees, the status of Jerusalem, and the borders of a future Palestinian state.

They see these as crucial steps towards addressing the fundamental human rights violations they have suffered for decades.
