The Messenger of Moral Upliftment
On the anniversary of the birth of the light of humanity, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, I remember that his Sunnah ensured the advancement of those who followed it. Beginning with his personal hygiene, passing through the purification of himself and the highness of his spirit, leading to the elevation of his mind, it was reported that he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “The siwak purifies the mouth and is pleasing to the Lord.” Narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih.
On the authority of Abu Darda’, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say: Whoever follows a path seeking knowledge in it, God will make a path easy for him to heaven, and that the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge, in satisfaction with what he does, and that the scholar seeks forgiveness for him from those in the heavens and those on earth until Whales in the water, and the scholar’s preference over the worshiper is like the moon’s preference over all the planets, and that scholars are the heirs of the prophets, and that the prophets did not inherit a dinar or a dirham (money), but rather they inherited knowledge, so whoever takes it takes an abundant fortune. Narrated by Abu Dawood and Tirmidhi.
In another saying he said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. First, I will show you something that if you do it, you will love one another. Spread peace among you.” Sahih Ibn Majah.
“God is gentle and loves gentleness in all matters.” Narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih.
The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said in the Farewell Pilgrimage: “Shall I not inform you of the believer: the one to whom people entrust their money and their lives, the Muslim is the one from whom people are safe from his tongue and his hand, the mujahid is the one who strives against himself in obedience to God, and the emigrant is the one who abandons sins and transgressions.” Narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih.
In one of his sayings: “This religion is easy, and no one will be too hard on religion except that it will overpower it, so pay back, get close, give good news, be easy, and seek help in the morning, in the evening, and in a little bit of sleep.” Sahih al-Nasa’i.
On the authority of Jaber, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came to us as a visitor, and he saw among us a disheveled man whose hair was parted, then he said: Didn’t that man find comb to beautify his hair? And he saw a man with dirty clothes, so he said: “Wasn't this man find something to wash his clothes?” Narrated by Abu Dawood (4062)
In different incidents he said:
“Faith has seventy-odd branches, the highest of which is saying there is no god but God, and the lowest of them is removing harmful things from the path.” Narrated by Muslim (35) with a slight difference.
“None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” Sahih Al-Bukhari.
“The superiority of the scholar over the worshiper is like my preference over the lowest among you. Indeed, God Almighty and His angels, and the people of the heavens and the earth, even the ant in its hole, and even the whale, may they bless the teacher of people with good.” Al-Jami’i Al-Sahih.
“The most perfect of the believers in faith is the one with the best character, and the best of you are those who are best for his family.”
The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “… what do you consider the strongest among you? They said: He is the one who is not overpowered by men.” He said: “No, but the strongest is the one who controls himself when angry.” Narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih.
“The Muslim is the one from whom people are safe from his tongue and hand, and the believer is the one from whom people trust over their blood and their money.” Sahih Al-Nasa’i.
“The best of you in Islam is the one with the best morals, if they understand.” Al-Jami’i Al-Sahih.
“No charity decreases money, and God does not increase a servant by pardoning him except that he is honored, and no servant humbles himself except that God raises him.” Narrated by Muslim (2588) with a slight difference.
“It is God’s right for every Muslim to take a bath every seven days, washing his head and body.” Sahih Al-Bukhari.
On the authority of Abdullah bin Amr, that a man asked the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: Which Islam is better? He said: “You feed the food and say hello to those you know and to those you do not know.” Sahih al-Nasa’i.
“The believer is not slandering, cursing, obscene, or obscene.” Middle Dictionary of Tabarani.
“He who is asked about knowledge he knows and conceals it will be bridles on the Day of Resurrection with a bridle of fire.” It was included by Abu Dawood (3658), Al-Tirmidhi (2649), Ibn Majah (266), and Ahmad (10420).
“…God did not send me to obstinate, but He did send me as a teacher who is facilitating.” Sahih Muslim.
“Do not be a conspirator, saying: If people are good, we will be good, and if they are wrong, we will be wrong. But settle yourselves, if people do good, do good, and if they do bad, do not be wronged.” Sunan Al-Tirmidhi.
And now, after listing some of the hadiths of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said in the hadith that Al-Bukhari and Ahmad brought out: “I was sent to complete good morals.” As for the right of those who follow them to live a life that guarantees them freedom, starting with self-purification and ending with independence of opinion, it also guarantees acceptance between people, starting with personal hygiene and ending with the love of goodness for others, and also ensuring that he enjoys an enlightened mentality aimed at science; Then you knowingly believe that the only absolute is God, so he ascends to the highest ranks of advancement, and therefore the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, has the right to be called the “Messenger of Moral Upliftment.”
