The era of the Dark Enlightenment, characterized by the slavery of arrogant ignorance, is a concerning trend from an Islamic perspective, Danny. 🏵️🏵️🏵️

In Islam, the pursuit of knowledge and critical thinking are highly valued and encouraged.

The Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) provide guidance on the importance of seeking knowledge, thinking independently, and distinguishing between truth and falsehood.

Allah says in the Quran, “Read! In the name of your Lord who created. He created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the most Generous. Who taught by the pen. Taught man what he knew not.” (Quran 96:1-5)

These verses highlight the significance of reading and acquiring knowledge as an essential part of personal and intellectual growth.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) consistently emphasized the value of seeking knowledge.

He said, "Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim," urging his followers to constantly seek knowledge throughout their lives.

He also stressed the importance of critical thinking and independent reasoning.

A famous hadith states, "The ink of the scholar is more sacred than the blood of the martyr," emphasizing the high regard Islam places on knowledge and intellectual pursuits.

Furthermore, Islam encourages individuals to critically assess information before accepting and propagating it.

The Quran warns against blindly accepting rumors and false narratives, encouraging verification and substantiation.

Allah says, “O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.” (Quran 49:6)

This verse highlights the importance of verifying information before spreading it, promoting intellectual integrity and avoidance of falsehood.

In addition, Muslims are encouraged to be mindful of their influence on others and to uphold values of honesty, integrity, and sincerity.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever says something that contradicts the Quran while knowing its contradiction, has indeed lied."

This hadith emphasizes the importance of sincerity and truthfulness in conveying information and discourages spreading false narratives or misinformation.

In the end, the decline in reading, critical thinking, and intellectual engagement, as described in the passage, is seen as problematic from an Islamic perspective.

Islam emphasizes the importance of seeking knowledge, critical thinking, and independent reasoning.

Muslims are encouraged to verify information, think critically, and uphold values of honesty and integrity.

By adhering to these Islamic principles, individuals can navigate the era of the Dark Enlightenment and contribute positively to society.
