Here are some thoughts from Islam perspective:

Firstly, Islam teaches that everything that happens in our lives, whether good or bad, is part of God's (Allah) divine plan for us. Recognizing that life's trials and tribulations are a part of Allah's plan can help us to cope with negative experiences and find solace in times of hardship. As Allah says in the Quran:

"Indeed, We have created everything according to a measure." (54:49)

"Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease." (94:6)

Secondly, one of the most fundamental teachings of Islam is to trust in Allah's decision-making. Muslims believe that Allah's knowledge, wisdom, and mercy far exceed that of human beings and that every situation has some good, even if it's not immediately apparent to us. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affairs are all good, and this applies to no one but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it, and that is good for him. If something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him." (Muslim)

Thirdly, Islam emphasizes the importance of gratitude in combating unhappiness. Muslims are encouraged to be grateful for the blessings they have, no matter how small. The Quran states:

"And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'" (14:7)

Fourthly, Islam stresses the importance of a strong faith in Allah and having faith in Him as it can provide comfort during times of trouble. As Allah says in the Quran:

"Say, 'Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.' And let the believers rely upon Allah." (9:51)

Lastly, Islam teaches that helping others, performing prayers and good deeds, and striving for excellence in every aspect of life can bring immense joy and deep fulfillment. Seeking the pleasure of Allah in all our actions makes our life purposeful and meaningful. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others." (Tabarani)

In the end, Islam provides a wealth of teachings and practices that can help combat unhappiness through trust in God (Allah), gratitude, faith in Him, and doing good deeds to please Him.
