From an Islamic perspective, compassion towards others is highly valued and is considered a key component of faith. The Quran and Hadith often emphasize the importance of having empathy and compassion towards others. Muslims are encouraged to help those in need, whether it is through donating money, volunteering time, or even just offering kind words.

In regards to the reasons for the ephemeral nature of compassion discussed in the article, Islam acknowledges that humans may have their own problems and worries, but emphasizes that helping others can actually alleviate one's own problems. The Quran states "And whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved all of mankind" (5:32), emphasizing the importance of helping others even if it may not directly impact oneself.

The most famous verse in the Quran about the oneness of Allah (Tawhid) is:

"Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,
Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
He neither begets nor is born,
Nor is there to Him any equivalent." (Surah Al-Ikhlas, 112:1-4)

Compassion fatigue may also be recognized in Islam as the concept of vicarious suffering, where empathy and concern for others' suffering can take a toll on one's own emotional and mental well-being. However, it is important to acknowledge this and take necessary measures to alleviate one's own stress, while still promoting compassion and service towards others.

Feeling helpless can also be addressed through Islamic teachings, which emphasize that every good deed, no matter how small, is worthy in the eyes of Allah. Muslims are encouraged to do what they are able to help others, and trust in God's ability to bring about change and ease in difficult situations.

Lastly, the preference for quick fixes can be addressed through the concept of long-term service and dedication to helping others. Muslims are encouraged to engage in ongoing charity and service work, showing dedication and commitment towards supporting those in need. It is understood that change may not occur overnight, but through consistent effort and commitment, positive change can be achieved.
