Thank you Joel for sharing this 🏵️🏵️

In Islam, tawhid (the Oneness of God) is the foundation of faith, and Muslims are called to worship Allah alone. The Quran states, "And verily, We have sent among every nation a Messenger (proclaiming): 'Worship Allah (alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities)'" (Quran 16:36).

Muslims believe that associating partners with Allah (shirk) is a major sin and can lead one astray from the true path. The Quran declares, "Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him in worship but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin" (Quran 4:48).

Islam recognizes that other religions, such as Judaism, and Christianity, are valid faiths revealed from Allah to Moses and Jesus as Prophets of Allah similar to Muhammad (peace be upon them all), and Muslims are called to respect their beliefs. The Quran states, "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion" (Quran 2:256). Additionally, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbor" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 73, Number 47).

However, Muslims are encouraged to adhere to the teachings and practices of Islam exclusively. The Quran states, "And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers" (Quran 3:85). Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said, "I have been sent before the Hour with the sword, so that Allah will be worshipped alone without any partners" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 59, Number 8).

Furthermore, Muslims are called to respect the religious freedom of non-Muslims and to coexist peacefully with them. The Quran states, "To you be your religion, and to me, my religion" (Quran 109:6). Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said, "Whoever kills a person who has a peace treaty with the Muslims, such that he is not a Mu'ahid (affording them security), will not smell the scent of Paradise.
