Thank you Alfredo for sharing this, here are some thoughts on the topic 🏵️🏵️

From an Islamic perspective, the concept of the soul is central to the faith, as it is considered the very essence of human life. In Surah Al-Hijr of the Quran, it is mentioned, "And certainly, We created man from a quintessence of clay. Then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, firmly fixed, then We made the drop of fluid into a clinging form and We made the clinged form into a lump of flesh and We made (from) the lump of flesh bones then We clothed the bones with flesh. Then We created him (Adam) anew in another formation. So blessed is Allah, the Best of creators." (Quran 15:26-29)

The soul is what gives life and consciousness to the human body, and it remains after death, returning to Allah for judgment. In the Quran, it is said, "Those who believed and did righteous deeds, for them will be gardens of Paradise as accommodation, wherein they abide eternally. It is that which Allah has promised His servants who believe and do righteous deeds." (Quran 25:15-16)

To maintain a balance between the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual aspects of one's life, Muslims must strive to nurture their souls. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Verily, there is a piece of flesh in the body, if it is good, the whole body is good; and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt, and that is the heart." (Sahih Bukhari)

Neglecting the soul leads to spiritual distress and dissatisfaction. In Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Allah says, "And in yourselves; then will you not see?" (Quran 51:21) This verse highlights the importance of introspection and self-reflection to reconnect with the soul.

To strengthen the connection with Allah and purify the soul, Muslims engage in spiritual practices such as prayer, fasting, and giving charity. In Surah Al-Ma'arij, it is mentioned, "Successful indeed are the believers, who are humble in their prayers, and who avoid vain talk, and who pay the zakat." (Quran 23:1-4)

In the end, Islam emphasizes the importance of maintaining a connection with the soul through spiritual practices and cultivating empathy. Neglecting this aspect of oneself can lead to spiritual harm and dissatisfaction. Through these practices, Muslims seek to strengthen their connection with Allah and lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.
