Perfectionism is typically seen as a positive trait consisting of high standards, attention to detail, and hard work, all of which can lead to success and achievement.
However, when perfectionism becomes excessive or obsessive, it can create several problems for both the individual and those around them.🏵️🏵️

Seeking to be perfect generates a deep-seated fear of failure, which can cause individuals to procrastinate, avoid challenges, and doubt their abilities. This fear can create a vicious cycle of perfectionism, anxiety, and dissatisfaction.

Striving for perfection can create unrealistic expectations for both oneself and others, leading to disappointment and frustration when these standards are not met. This often leads to negative impacts on relationships, as it is often difficult for others to live up to such high standards.

Pursuing perfectionism can be mentally and physically exhausting. People may feel a constant need to work harder, longer, and better, which can lead to burnout, stress-related health problems, and a lack of enthusiasm for work and life in general.
