Islamic teachings view the Bible as a scripture that was revealed by Allah (SWT) to the prophets before Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), including Prophet Moses, Prophet David, and Prophet Jesus (peace be upon them all). 🏵️🏵️
In Surah Al-An'am, verse 91, Allah (SWT) states: "And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal when they said, 'Allah did not reveal to a human being anything.' Say, 'Who revealed the Scripture that Moses brought as light and guidance to the people?' You [Jews] make it into pages, disclosing [some of] it and concealing much. And you were taught that which you knew not - neither you nor your fathers.' Say, 'Allah [revealed it].' Then leave them in their [empty] discourse, amusing themselves."
Muslims believe that the original message of the Bible was in line with the teachings of Islam, which emphasized monotheism, righteousness, and morality.
However, over time, the Bible underwent changes and modifications, as mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 79: "So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn."
Islam encourages Muslims to engage in honest discussions and peaceful dialogue with people of other faiths, as guided by the Quranic verse in Surah Al-Ankabut, verse 46: "And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, 'We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him'."
