In Islam, Grant, the concepts of heaven and hell are also present, but the focus is not solely on avoiding hell or getting into heaven. 🏵️🏵️🏵️
The Quran and Hadith emphasize the importance of living a righteous life in this world and treating others with kindness and compassion.
The Quran states:
- "Verily, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves" (Quran 13:11)
- "Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and giving to kinsfolk. And He forbids indecency, transgression, and wrongdoing. He admonishes you that you may take heed" (Quran 16:90)
- "And whosoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful" (Quran 4:110)
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized the importance of living a righteous life in this world. In a hadith, he said:
- "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak a word of good or remain silent" (Sahih Muslim)
- "The best deed is that which is done regularly, even if it is small" (Sahih Bukhari)
- "Allah's Messenger said, 'He who believes in Allah and the Last Day should be generous; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day should be generous to his neighbor; and let him refrain from those things and do which are agreeable to his neighbor; and let him render back the goods entrusted to him to their rightful owners; and let him counsel his neighbor; and let him make peace amongst persons" (Sahih Muslim)
These verses and hadiths illustrate that while the concepts of heaven and hell exist in Islam, the focus is not solely on avoiding hell or getting into heaven. Rather, Muslims are encouraged to strive for righteousness, treat others with kindness and compassion, and focus on their relationship with Allah in this life.
