In Islam, Grant, the concept of monotheism or tawhid is a fundamental belief that is central to the faith. 🏵️🏵️🏵️

Muslims believe that Allah is one and indivisible; there is no other deity worthy of worship besides Him, in the Quran Allah says: "Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

And there is none like unto Him." (Surah Al-Ikhlas 112:1).

The Quran acknowledges that various peoples throughout history have worshipped gods other than Allah.

For example, in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:26), it says, "And We did not send any messenger before you (O Muhammad) but We revealed to him that, 'La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me.'"

This verse affirms that Allah is the only true God, but it also recognizes that other people worshipped other gods before the coming of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Similarly, the Quran mentions the stories of various prophets and their peoples, who worshipped gods other than Allah.

For instance, in Surah Al-A'raf (7:138), it says, "And We sent Moses with Our signs and a clear authority, to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they followed the command of Pharaoh. And We took him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Behold! In this are signs indeed for people who believe."

This verse highlights the story of Moses and the Pharaoh, who worshipped other gods and were punished by Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized the importance of monotheism and the rejection of polytheism.

In a hadith, he said, "Whoever worshipped a partner with Allah, his prayer is not accepted for forty days, and his charity is not accepted, and his fasting is not accepted, and he is not prayed over when he dies, and he will be raised on the Day of Judgment with a sign between his shoulders, which will be the image of whatever he worshipped in place of Allah" (Muslim).

In another hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Allah's Apostle said, 'Whoever testifies that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, then his prayer, and his charity, and his fasting, and his Hajj, and his Umrah, and his deeds are for Allah. And the reward of his deeds is multiplied ten times to seven hundred times. Allah said, 'Every act of Adam's son is for him except fasting, which is for Me and I will reward (the fasting person) for it'" (Bukhari).

In the end, Islam rejects the worship of other gods.

The Quran acknowledges the belief in other gods by various peoples throughout history, but it also establishes the oneness and supremacy of Allah. Muslims are called upon to believe in Allah alone and to reject the worship of any other deity.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized the importance of monotheism and the rejection of polytheism.
