In Islam, Carmellita, the belief in predestination is firmly rooted in the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). 🏵️🏵️🏵️

Allah's divine decree and knowledge encompass all aspects of our lives, including the paths we choose to take. As stated in Surah Al-Hadid (57:22), "No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being - indeed that, for Allah, is easy."

However, Islam also emphasizes the importance of seeking knowledge, reflecting on the experiences of those who came before us, and recognizing the interconnectedness of our journeys.

The Quran emphasizes the value of acquiring knowledge and understanding, as exemplified in Surah Al-Zumar (39:9), "Say, 'Are those who know equal to those who do not know?' Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding."

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also encouraged seeking knowledge and benefiting from the wisdom of others. He said, "Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim" (Al-Tirmidhi) and "The seeking of knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim" (Ibn Majah).

This highlights the importance of acknowledging the efforts of those who have paved the way before us.

In Islam, the meaningfulness of our journeys lies in our intentions and actions. As mentioned in the hadith, "Actions are judged by intentions" (Sahih Bukhari).

Therefore, whether we walk a well-trodden path or choose the road less traveled, what truly matters is the sincerity of our intentions, aligning them with the teachings of Islam, and making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Islam teaches us to be grateful and show appreciation for those who have made it possible for us to navigate our journeys. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "He who does not thank people does not thank Allah" (Abu Dawud).

This underscores the importance of recognizing and acknowledging the efforts of those who have shaped the roads we travel.

Ultimately, Islam guides us to live with purpose, to please Allah, and to contribute positively to society. Our journeys in life become meaningful when we strive to acquire knowledge, make conscious choices based on Islamic principles, show gratitude to those who have paved the way, and make a positive impact that benefits both ourselves and those who will follow in our footsteps.
