Here are some thoughts on the topic from Islam perspective 🏵️🏵️

In Islam, thoughts are regarded as a critical element of the human psyche and can influence an individual's actions, character, and overall well-being. As stated in the Quran (2:197), the ultimate goal of human beings is to submit to Allah (SWT), and this includes controlling one’s thoughts and following a righteous path.

Islam emphasizes the importance of having pure and positive thoughts, as it could lead to a better life. Therefore, a Muslim should strive to maintain positive thoughts and avoid negative thoughts, as it is a form of worship. According to the Hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) stated, "O people, beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales and do not look for the others' faults and do not spy and do not hate each other, and do not desert (cut your relations with) one another O Allah's worshipers, be brothers!"

Islamic teachings also highlight the influence of external factors, such as Satan and negative human experiences, on thoughts. Muslims are advised to seek refuge in Allah (SWT) from the accursed devil and seek His protection from negative influences that could impact their thinking. The Quran (41:36) states, "And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing."

Muslims are also encouraged to reflect on their thoughts and introspect to identify and correct negative thoughts and behaviors. This is highlighted in the Quran (4:135), where Allah (SWT) instructs believers to “stand firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or your close relatives. Whether the person is rich or poor, Allah can best take care of both. Do not follow your desires and deviate from the truth. If you twist or turn away, Allah is fully aware of what you do."

In the end, Islam emphasizes the importance of cultivating positive thoughts and being wary of external influences that could damage one’s thinking. Muslims should always aim for purity of the heart and mind and trust in Allah (SWT) to guide them on the right path.
