Here are some thoughts from Islam perspective πŸ΅οΈπŸ΅οΈπŸ‘‡

In Islam, discontentment is viewed as a natural emotion that can arise when our expectations are not met. But how we deal with that emotion is what matters. It's important to remember that our faith offers us guidance on how to approach feelings of discontentment and how to find contentment in our lives.

One of the first steps to dealing with discontentment in Islam is to seek guidance from God (Allah). Our faith teaches us that Allah alone can provide true contentment, and it is only through His blessings that we can find lasting happiness.
In the Quran, Allah tells us:

"Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, verily to them will We give a new life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions." (Surah an-Nahl, 16:97)

This verse tells us that true contentment can only be attained through a combination of faith and righteous deeds. So, to find contentment in our lives, we must strive to strengthen our faith and live our lives in a way that is pleasing to Allah.

One of the practical solutions for dealing with discontentment in Islam is to practice gratitude.
In a Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever does not thank the people, has not thanked Allah" (Sunan al-Bayhaqi).

This Hadith highlights that showing gratitude is an essential aspect of our faith. We should be grateful not only for the blessings that Allah has directly bestowed upon us but also for the blessings that come to us through other people.

Another way to deal with discontentment is to focus on our blessings rather than our shortcomings. The Quran reminds us:

"And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful." (Surah Ibrahim, 14:34)

This verse teaches us that God (Allah) has bestowed countless blessings upon us, and we should reflect on them and be grateful for them. By focusing on the blessings we have, we can find contentment in our lives, even when we face difficult situations.

A good example of dealing with discontentment in Islam would be from one of the previous Prophets; which is the story of Prophet Job (peace be upon him). He was faced with numerous trials and tribulations, including the loss of his wealth, his health, and his family. However, in the face of all this hardship, he remained patient and grateful to Allah. He said:

"Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful." (Surah al-Anbiya, 21:83)

This example highlights the importance of patience and gratitude in dealing with discontentment. Even in the most challenging situations, we should turn to Allah and seek His help and guidance.

In the end, discontentment is a natural emotion that can arise in our lives, but we can find contentment by following the guidance of Islam. We should seek guidance from God (Allah), practice gratitude, focus on our blessings, and remain patient in the face of adversity. By doing so, we can find true contentment and happiness in this life and the hereafter. ⏩⏩
