Here are some thoughts from Islam perspective 🏵️👇

In Islam, the concept of chastity is paramount and is considered a foundation of Muslim faith and practice. Chastity is defined as remaining sexually pure by abstaining from all forms of sexual activity outside of the institution of marriage. This principle has been emphasized by Allah, the Almighty, in the Quran as a means to achieve purity and cleanliness in both the physical and spiritual forms. Allah says in the Quran, "Say to believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them. And Allah is well acquainted with what they do." (Quran 24:30)

Other verses that emphasize the importance of chastity include "And come not near unto adultery; surely it is a shameful act and an evil way" (Quran 17:32). Muslims are encouraged to dress modestly, avoid situations that may lead to sexual temptations, and practice self-control. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also instructed his followers to refrain from sexual indecencies and remain chaste. A well-known hadith of the Prophet Muhammad states: “Whosoever among you can afford it, let him get married, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding the chastity” (Sahih Bukhari 5066).

Muslims believe that chastity is a cornerstone of a society built on righteousness, and it is essential to protect not only the individual's purity but also that of society. Remaining chaste also strengthens the bond between Allah and the believer and helps ward off Satan's temptations. The message of chastity is consistent with the teachings of earlier prophets, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them), who all emphasized the importance of sexual purity and avoidance of all kinds of indecencies.
