Here are some thoughts from Islam perspective 🏵️👇

Islam as a religion has its own perspective on the concept of the separation of church and state. As Muslims, we believe in the oneness of Allah (Tawhid) and that everything in the universe is interconnected in a meaningful way. We also believe that the message of Islam, as conveyed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is consistent with the message conveyed by previous prophets such as Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.

The principles of Islam provide a comprehensive way of life that governs the behavior of individuals, societies, and states. This includes principles of justice, equity, compassion, and accountability. In Islam, there is no separation between religion and state because religion is meant to guide humanity in all aspects of life.

The Quran states, "And We have not sent you but as a mercy to the worlds" (Quran 21:07). Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent as a guide to all of humanity, and his teachings offer guidance on how to govern societies and create just and equitable communities. The Quran also emphasizes the importance of justice in governance, stating that "Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may receive admonition" (Quran 16:90).

One of the prime examples of the implementation of Islamic governance is the establishment of the Islamic state of Madinah under the guidance of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Under his leadership, Madinah became a model for just and equitable governance, where people of all faiths were respected and treated with dignity and kindness.

There are also numerous Hadiths that provide guidance on governance and leadership in Islam. For example, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated, "A ruler who takes care of the needs of his subjects is like a person who is guarding the most precious treasure of his people" (Bukhari). This demonstrates the importance of accountability and service in Islamic governance.

Finally, it is crucial to highlight the oneness of Allah and the interconnectedness of all things. In Islam, everything is connected to Allah and His divine plan. The Quran states, "He is Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Majestic, the Compeller, the Supremely Great. Glory be to Allah, above all that they associate with Him" (Quran 59:23). This highlights that all creation is part of a single plan, guided by Allah's wisdom and mercy.

In summary, Islam views the separation of church and state differently than secular societies. The principles of Islam provide guidance on governance and leadership that are comprehensive and just. The message of Islam is consistent with the teachings of previous prophets, and emphasizes oneness, accountability, and the interconnectedness of all things. By following these principles, we can create societies that are just, equitable, and compassionate.
