As Muslims, we believe that the exploration of other belief systems is a valuable exercise that can help us appreciate the diversity of human thought and culture. When it comes to ancient Egyptian creation myths and their potential connections with Jewish scriptures, we understand that this exploration can be interesting from an academic perspective. However, it is essential to remember that Islam has its own unique understanding of creation, which is beautifully expressed in the Quran and Hadith.🏵️🏵️
In Islam, we believe that Allah is the one true God who created and sustains everything in the universe. The Quran reveals Allah's magnificence, stating, "Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent" (Quran 112:1-4). Through these verses, we understand that Allah is powerful beyond measure and is free from any human limitations.
As Muslims, we believe in Tawhid, which is the oneness of Allah. It affirms that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and this belief is echoed in the Quran, "And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful" (Quran 2:163). We also recognize the ninety-nine names of Allah, which reveal His qualities such as wisdom, mercy, compassion, and forgiveness.
When it comes to exploring other religious traditions or mythologies, we approach it with respect and curiosity, keeping our core beliefs in mind. We are reminded in the Quran that Allah created mankind with different cultures and languages. "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted" (Quran 49:13).
In conclusion, we believe that while the exploration of creation myths from other traditions can help us learn more about human beliefs and cultures, as Muslims, our understanding of creation is grounded in the Quran and Hadith. We believe in the oneness of Allah as our creator, sustainer, and protector, and we strive to honor Him in our daily lives.
