🏵️ Deconstruction is a concept that is not explicitly mentioned in the Quran or Hadith, but it is related to the idea of critically evaluating one's beliefs and values. In Islam🏵️, this is known as "tadabbur" or contemplation, which is encouraged by Allah (SWT) in the Quran:

"...and those who ponder over the Signs of Allah (SWT) that are recited to them, and then they ponder again." (Quran 29:1)

In Islam, we are encouraged to reflect on our beliefs and values, but not to tear them down without replacing them with new ones. Rather, we are called to replace them with the truth revealed by Allah (SWT) in the Quran.

Your distinction, Liza Lovett, between deconstruction and disentangling is similar to some Islamic concepts, which refers to the difference between those who are content with their current state and those who seek knowledge and guidance. In Islam, we are encouraged to seek guidance and wisdom, rather than tearing down our current beliefs and values.

🏵️ Disentangling is also a concept that is present in Islamic spirituality. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or your possessions, but He looks at your hearts." (Bukhari)

This Hadith emphasizes the importance of inner purification and self-reflection, which is a key aspect of disentangling. By removing impurities from our hearts and minds, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world.

🏵️ In conclusion, while deconstruction may be a necessary step in personal growth, it is not sufficient on its own. Rather, we must combine it with disentangling and seeking guidance from Allah (SWT) in order to achieve true transformation and spiritual growth. As you suggest, Liza, disentangling is a more positive and transformative approach than deconstruction.
