🏵️🏵️ Rand, I was touched by your honest sharing of your struggles with mental health at the age of 75. It takes great courage to open up about such personal matters, and I appreciate your willingness to do so.
As a Muslim, I am reminded of the importance of seeking help and support when struggling with mental health issues. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Seek help from one another in all your affairs" (Reported by Ibn Majah).
In the Quran, we are reminded that, "When my servants ask you (the Prophet) about Me, I am indeed near; I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me, so let them respond to My call by obeying Me, and believe in Me in order that they may follow My path and guidance" ( Quran 2:186).
These verses and the hadith from the Prophet remind us that seeking help and asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Rand, I encourage you to continue seeking help and support from loved ones, professionals, or a support group. It's through seeking help and support that we can truly overcome our struggles and find peace.
In the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "When you feel yourself being lifted up with pride, remember that you are but ashes and dust" (Reported by Al-Hakim). May we all remember our humble beginnings and seek help when we need it.
Rand, keep sharing your story and seeking help; you are not alone.
With warmth and understanding, 🌺🌹, Mohamed, Ph.D
