🏵️🏵️🏵️ Your reflections, Ademola, on understanding Jesus are thought-provoking, and I appreciate your insights. From an Islamic perspective, we have great respect for Jesus (Isa, peace be upon him), who is revered as one of the greatest prophets sent by God. In the Quran, Jesus is described as a servant of God who performed miracles by His permission and delivered God’s message to the people.

In Surah Al-Imran (3:45-47), Allah tells us about the miraculous birth of Jesus and his role: **"When the angels said, 'O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary—distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those who are near [to Allah]."** This verse emphasizes the honor bestowed upon Jesus and highlights his role as a messenger of God.

Moreover, Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:110) reminds us of the miracles he performed, reaffirming his position: **"The Day when Allah will say, 'O Jesus, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [the Day] when I designed for you the Scripture and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel…"**

In Islam, understanding Jesus deepens our appreciation for the shared values among the Abrahamic faiths. Rather than viewing our beliefs in isolation, we are encouraged to engage in dialogue and learn from one another, contributing to a world that seeks peace and understanding.

I encourage you to explore these perspectives further and consider the common ground that can unite us. Dialogue can be a powerful tool in dispelling misconceptions and building bridges. How can we work together to foster a deeper understanding between our communities?

Warm regards,

Mohamed, Ph.D.
