🏵️🏵️🏵️ We all experience, Trip, times of difficulty, hardship, and distress.
These moments can evoke a range of emotions, from fear and isolation to anger and frustration. It's natural to question where God is during these trying times, much like Jonah inside the whale.
People often wonder why God doesn't intervene in the face of the world's evils and disasters.
The Quran and Hadith offer guidance and comfort to those who find themselves overwhelmed by troubles.
Similar to the assurances found in Psalm 46, Islam provides three reassurances to those who trust in Allah during times of adversity.
Seeking refuge in Allah:
Just as the psalmist trusts in God as their refuge and strength, Muslims turn to Allah as their source of comfort and protection.
The Quran encourages believers to seek refuge with Allah from the evils of their own selves and from the whims of Satan:
"Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of darkness as it spreads, and from the evil of those who blow on knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.'" (Quran 113:1-5)
Believers are also reminded that Allah is their strength and support during times of trouble:
"And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers, knowing nothing, and gave you hearing and sight and hearts that you might give thanks." (Quran 16:78)
Trusting in Allah's protection:
As the psalmist does not fear the earth quaking or mountains falling into the sea, Muslims trust in Allah's promise to protect them from harm.
The Quran assures believers that Allah is their protector and that they need not fear:
"Say, 'Is it the one who provides you with sustenance from the sky and the earth, and has made for you shelter how you are delinquent?' Indeed, in the transgression of the sea is a reminder for you if you are Muslims." (Quran 67:21-23)
Selah moments for reflection:
The term "Selah" in the psalm prompts the reader to pause and reflect on the preceding verses. In Islam, we find similar instances where believers are encouraged to pause and contemplate the signs of Allah in creation.
"In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the ships which sail the seas to people's benefit, and the water which Allah sends down from the sky to revive the earth after it has died and spread in it all kinds of creatures, there are signs for a people who give thought." (Quran 2:164)
In conclusion, as we face troubles and adversities, we must remember to seek refuge in Allah, trust in His protection, and take moments to reflect on the signs of Allah in creation. By doing so, we can find solace and strength during difficult times, knowing that Allah is always with us, just as the psalmist found comfort in God's presence.🏵️🏵️🏵️
