🏵️🏵️🏵️ Thank you, Jabberwockymp, for sharing your thoughts, which clearly express deep frustration and disillusionment regarding historical figures and the impact of their followers' actions. It's essential to acknowledge the pain and suffering that has occurred throughout history in the name of various ideologies and beliefs, including those associated with figures like Jesus, Hitler, and others.
From an Islamic perspective, it's crucial to differentiate between the teachings of a prophet or leader and the actions of their followers. In Islam, Jesus (known as 'Isa) is revered as a prophet who preached peace, compassion, and the oneness of God. The core messages attributed to him in the Quran emphasize love for others, mercy, and the importance of justice. Unfortunately, throughout history, human beings have often strayed from these teachings, sometimes committing acts of violence in the name of religion while fundamentally contradicting its principles.
As for the grievances surrounding the historical actions of those claiming to act in Jesus's name, it is clear that many have misused religious teachings for political gain, manipulation, or personal power, leading to tragic consequences. The failures of leadership and the atrocities committed by individuals do not represent the true spirit of any faith, including Christianity, Islam, or others.
It's also worth noting that Islam advocates for the dignity and rights of all human beings. The Quran emphasizes the sanctity of life and justice, urging believers to stand against oppression and promote peace. The actions of individuals who call themselves Christians, Muslims, or anything else do not always reflect the principles of their faith, and it's a mistake to attribute the flaws and failures of humanity to the beliefs themselves.
While the call for a future where humanity transcends the need for supernatural beliefs is a valid perspective, many find meaning and ethical guidance in their spiritual beliefs that leads to profound acts of kindness and social justice.
Engaging in open dialogues about our shared humanity, regardless of differing beliefs, can help us address the issues you raise and work towards a world that values peace, justice, and compassion.
Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to this conversation,
