Dear Walter,

I appreciate your insightful article on the Hero's Journey and its application to our personal lives. As a Muslim, I would like to add some Islamic perspectives to your stages.

The Ordinary World is similar to our concept of (Dunya), which represents the worldly life where we are born and raised.

The Call to Adventure is reminiscent of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) call to Islam, which urges us to seek guidance and follow the righteous path.

Refusal of the Call is similar to when we resist or hesitate to follow Allah's guidance due to our own desires and whims.

Meeting the Mentor is akin to our relationship with Allah, who guides us through revelation and sends prophets to guide us.

Crossing the Threshold is when we make a conscious decision to follow Islam and leave our old ways behind.

Tests, Allies, and Enemies reflect the trials we face in life, where we must navigate through challenges and make choices that align with our faith.

Approach to the Inmost Cave represents our spiritual struggles and self-reflection, where we seek guidance and clarity.

The Ordeal is similar to the trials we face as Muslims, where we must persevere through difficulties and maintain our faith.

The Reward is when we experience spiritual growth and fulfillment through our faith.

The Road Back represents our journey back to our faith community after facing challenges and overcoming them.

The Resurrection is when we are reborn in spirit, reflecting on our experiences and growing as individuals.

In conclusion, while the Hero's Journey may have its own stages, I believe that Islamic principles can provide a deeper understanding of these stages and their application to our lives. May we continue to grow spiritually and navigate our own hero's journey with faith and perseverance.
