Dear Nikki,

I appreciate your thoughtful response and for sharing your perspective on Taoism. It's fascinating to see the similarities between the values and teachings of Islam and Taoism. As an Islamic follower, I must say that I resonate with the idea of living in harmony with the universe and striving to achieve fulfillment in society.

As the Quran says, "And live with them in more need of kindness and mercy. For if you tolerate them (with kindness), you will find that they will be more likely to respond with obedience" (Quran 9:128).

However, as Muslims, we believe that our connection with the divine is not just a philosophical concept, but a fundamental aspect of our faith. We believe that our actions have consequences in this life and the hereafter, and that we are accountable to Allah (God) for our deeds.

As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "You were not created for evil, but for good" (Prophetic Hadith).

As Muslims, we strive to follow the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah (the prophetic tradition) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which guide us towards living a virtuous life, treating others with kindness and compassion, and working towards the betterment of society.

I would encourage you to explore the teachings of Islam, not just as a philosophy or way of life, but as a spiritual path that can bring inner peace, guidance, and purpose. You may find that many of the values you cherish in Taoism are also reflected in Islamic teachings.

As Allah says in the Quran, "Whoever does righteousness – whether male or female – while believing – We will surely cause him to enter a good place wherein rivers flow" (Quran 16:97).

I would like to invite you to learn more about Islam and its principles. You can start by reading the Quran, exploring Islamic literature, and engaging with Muslim communities around you. Who knows, you may find that it brings you closer to your values and aspirations.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, Nikki. I look forward to hearing more from you.

Warm regards,

Mohamed, Ph.D

May Allah guide us all towards righteousness and mercy.
