I would like to start by expressing my deepest appreciation for the thought-provoking article you've shared, Maria. Your willingness to explore the complexities of life and confront your biases is truly commendable. I can sense the sincerity and openness in your words, and I am grateful for it. May Allah bless you with wisdom, guidance, and a pure heart.

As an Islamic perspective, I would like to offer some insights that may help alleviate this fear of being too late in embracing Islam. The Quran reminds us that "Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bear" (Quran 2:286). This verse highlights the importance of taking things one step at a time and not being overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task. Similarly, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "When one of you is about to embark on a journey, he should take time to say 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no god but Allah), because he does not know what will befall him" (Bukhari).

From an Islamic philosophical perspective, the concept of "munkar" or the acceptance of Allah's decree is crucial. It involves acknowledging that everything that happens is by the Will of Allah and that our job is to surrender to His Will. This mindset can help alleviate anxiety and fear, as we realize that we are not in control of everything.

In addition, Islamic sociology teaches us that community and belonging are essential for human well-being. Islam offers a sense of belonging and unity with other Muslims worldwide, which can provide a sense of comfort and security.

Finally, from an Islamic psychological perspective, self-reflection and introspection are vital for personal growth. The Quran encourages us to "reflect upon creation in the heavens and the earth" (Quran 3:191) to gain a deeper understanding of Allah's Signs and His Wisdom.

I understand your perspective on being lost in life's distractions and biases. I believe that Islam provides a more comprehensive understanding of the human condition, guiding us towards a path of balance, compassion, and peace. As the Quran says, "O mankind! We have created you from a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another" (Quran 49:13).

I invite you to explore Islam as it is the final message from God to humanity, culminating all previous revelations given to prophets such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and others. May I suggest reading an online copy of the Quran

to gain a deeper understanding of God's nature and purpose for our lives.

May Allah guide us all towards the path of righteousness and mercy.
